Not necessarily. I give an excellent example: Berserk 2016 and Nobelesse. Berserks ‘cgi animation’ is trash tier, and is woefully worse than the beautiful drawings of the manga.
Nobelesse though is the worse offender, they tried to crunch over 180 chapters of information into 13 episodes. With another 150+ left over. There is so much information/world building that is lost, that many who got increased in the manga from the anime, were lost. And those who read it beforehand and watched the anime noticed the jumps.
Because of how careful the Author here has put everything, explaining it etc. no “big massive fights every other chapter” I doubt this would be translated to anime very well. I imagine the first 2 episodes getting to the first demon winter fight, then 3-4 episodes later getting to where we are now. That’s how bad animators skip the story in these sort of things.
