You shouldnt be surprised. Most wuxia/xianxia manhua themes are cliche. There arent many ways you can go with a story about reincarnation and revenge from a narrative point of view. Tales of demons and gods is an extremely popular manhua of the wuxia genre, so it makes sense that some other manhuas will capitalize on it’s format and adapt similar charactristics to it.
Okay, having a flashback a few chapters in is also a decent way to inform the readers about the setting of the manhua. At least it’s somewhat different compared to other cultivation manhuas with reincarnated MCs
