Carrera, Ultima and Testarossa are also said to be locked in a 3-way power struggle until Diablo recruited them and Rimuru named them.
Kind of, not really, the timeline is important. Diablo and Guy have a special kind of relationship because Diablo is the only demon to ever draw in a fight against Guy. However, that only held true when Guy was still the unnamed primordial Red. Thousands of years have passed since guy was summoned to the physical plane and awakened as the first ancient Demon Lord. During that time Guy the mediator has fought as an equal to some pretty big names, even against each of the True Dragons with the exception of Star King Dragon Veldanava. In terms of current reality Guy wins hands down. But in terms of hypothetical greater potential as a member of the demon race alone, it could be argued that Diablo “the oddball” has the edge (although he never desires power because there’d be no fun in being stronger than everyone, a point that Guy concedes to)- Guy acknowledges Diablo as an old friend, and in my opinion one of the major reasons for this (apart from their history together) is that Diablo (besides the whacko personality) is essentially the demon Guy would have been had he not decided to seek power.
