Think of it this way, if you play an RPG for the first time and complete it, and then start a new game from start but with your acquired knowledge, don’t you feel overpowered at least at the start? You know where to go, what skills and items to pick at the start, how to fight each enemy type, etc. A game’s difficulty is balanced on the first playthrough, the second time is making it easier. That’s why games have more difficulty options or new game+ modes, this is like a hard mode of the apocalypse event with sorter timers between the events.
