Maybe I’m too old for this Manhwa or something but jesus christ, the protagonist is grating. He tries so hard to be cool. It feels like the author is making a self insert or maybe just wrote this story when he was young, but the tension has been all but lost for me. Like can this guy act human for once? Also, why is there so much exposition? I know that this world is getting new layers step by step but there has been so few chapters where the characters aren’t explaining EVERYTHING. “I’m using only 60% of my power. Heh. A show of force, but I’m establishing dominance…. It has to be at least a stage four. In my past life, blah blah blah blah blah… In my past life, he grew to be the leader of x y z blah blah blah…” It was entertaining at first and thrilling to see his past knowledge be of use. But 300 chapters in and he still has to explain almost everything? Lay off and let the action show for itself sometimes. So far, the most entertaining fight *spoilers* was Xuan Xuan first encountering the crimson demon. Why? Because there was NO exposition. Just action, careful strategy, sparse comments. More of that, please. And less moments where the characters makes a realistically dumb choice just because he can do a cool misdirection. Cheng is coming off more and more as an unrelatable, unbearable asshole instead of someone jaded by their past 10 years of life seeing loved ones die until he was the only one left.
