Nathan, I’ve been there before. I’ve tried several times and I’m so glad they failed. I now have a family of my own that I love and someone who loves me for me. It feels like forever when your in that depression, but it isn’t forever. What you desire is purpose and the purpose I found is living for others not myself. When I am selfless I can change the world and that’s what makes my life meaningful. Don’t waste your life. Be the change for others you want in your own life. If you want to see an example of this just look at Jesus in the Bible. He died for others, but that wasn’t the end of the story. Just the beginning.
