Waiiiit okay I think I get the plot. See, Anastasia had this kinda magic linked with her dad that protected him from getting curse. The aunt knew about it and since they couldn’t harm the king with Anastasia there they framed her. So when she died, the magic also died, leaving the dad vulnerable. The black hair guy is actually the older brother of the king, he is using magic to hid his looks because y’know he can’t be seen. After Anastasia death and the king getting cursed he finally revealed himself.
