Also, it feels like the author doesn’t understand what talent is… Talent affects learning speed, not innate skill. So calling it Talent isn’t exactly correct. I think the author is assuming Talent is innate skill. Aka, its like starting at Level 5 in a game rather than Level 1. Then again, the timeline skips around very quickly, so maybe he is training and I’m not seeing it because its a manhua and not a book that documents every day.
Honestly, if I had his ability to copy talents, I’d be using it every 30 days and only confronting those I don’t like during those windows of opportunity. Cause that Mo bastard probably had a higher level of talent than the MC and it would have been worth copying it. I also would have copied the sister’s talent. Hell, I’d be copying everyone’s talents depending on if the talents compound or if they replace. Cause if they compound, taking two low talents would be better than sticking with one low talent. If they replace, then of course only taking higher talents would be better. Also… I realize he wanted his sister to have a better life… but he should have taken the damn geocentric water himself. It raised her talent by two teirs. He’d have a high or legendary cultivation talent if he’d done that. He would have been more than capable of giving her a better life if he ascended the ranks quickly that way, rather than building her foundation at the cost of his own.
The author is clearly using talent as a substitute for power and when it talks about the tiers of talent in cultivation it is using it like it is supposed to be. Obviously it wouldn’t show us the times where he can’t use his 1 special ability or else it would be lacking the ONE THING the whole manhwa is titled after. Idk if he can compound talents but we haven’t seen him fuse an ability since his initial talent fusing. He shouldn’t have taken the elixir because one he wants his sister to have a higher talent and two the description said that it was only effective for mid tier and below and there is no guarantee that it would make his talent jump two levels or even one. We haven’t met anyone with a higher tier than mid in terms of talent and we never saw his. The MC has been focused on improving himself and I’m sure if his talent was something great he would’ve waited the time to kill him and just kept watch over his sister
